The Finance Office consists of three employees; Finance Officer, Human Resource Officer/Assistant Finance Officer, Accounting Technician. We have a combined 49 years of service with Alleghany County Government. With these years of service, we feel that we have a unique level of local government knowledge and experience enabling us to carry out the duties of the Finance Office.
The Finance Office maintains and administers the County's fiscal operations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB), accounting procedures required by local, state and federal laws. We work closely with the Local Government Commission in accordance with the Local Government Fiscal Control Act.

We work to maintain the general fund ledger along with all other funds ledgers, monthly reconciliations, complying with all local policies and procedures, insuring compliance with the Alleghany County Budget Ordinance, and required reporting to State and Federal agencies.
