The GIS department for Alleghany County, maintains all property cadastral data within the County Boundary. This includes the Town of Sparta and the Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). Alleghany County currently has over 16,000 parcels of property. Along with this data, we also have an online GIS website that is free to the public and is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Other data layers that are available include: Roads, Flood, Watershed, High Quality Water Areas, Contour Lines and Aerial Photography.
We also assign E-911 Addresses, manage the E-911 database, Master Street Addressing Guide (MSAG) and Emergency Service Networks (ESNs) for E-911 and make E-911 Road Signs.
We assist Taxpayers, Law Offices, Realtors, Surveyors and other individuals on land record and E-911 Addressing questions and requests. We also assist other agencies for requests for data and developing GIS layers to meet their needs.
Our office hours are from 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
