Alleghany in Motion

Alleghany in Motion (AIM) is the public transportation system for Alleghany County. It is the goal of AIM to provide quality community transportation services that are efficient and responsive to the current and changing needs of Alleghany County.

AIM began operations as a consolidated public transportation system in November of 2001. AIM serves the transportation needs for governmental and non-profit agencies, their clients, as well as the general public. All service provided is demand response including subscription routes for local health and human service agencies.

AIM provides transportation within and to destinations beyond Alleghany County including elderly and disabled transportation, general public transportation, and medical transportation including approved Medicaid appointments. Employment transportation is provided in Alleghany County only.

All requests for transportation other than Medicaid must be received at least one business day prior to your appointment for scheduling purposes. All Medicaid in county transportation requests must be received three business days in advance and out of county Medicaid requests must be received at least five business days in advance.

We welcome the opportunity to assist you with all your transportation needs. Our office is open Monday – Friday 7 AM to 5 PM. Cancellations, questions and requests for transportation may be left on our answering machine after hours for a return call the next business day.
