From Alleghany County Emergency Management

Alleghany County and the Town of Sparta are pleased to announce that the annual July 4th fireworks show will proceed as planned. The show will be on Saturday the 4th at about 9:30 PM, weather permitting. In the event of rain, the show will be held the following day at the same time.

In light of the Governor’s executive orders which limit social gatherings, there will be no formal events or celebrations on the high school grounds on the day of the 4th, and anyone wishing to enjoy the show is asked to practice social distancing and to wear a mask.
