Sparta, NC – The Alleghany County Commissioners today announced the awarding of the 2017/2018 fuel oil contract to Home Town Oil & LP Gas, LLC, of Sparta. Home Town will provide fuel oil for county buildings as well as the Crisis Fuel Assistance Program through the Department of Social Services. The County estimates it will purchase about 5,000 gallons of fuel depending on the severity of the winter.
“We are pleased to award the fuel oil bid to Home Town Oil & LP Gas, LLC again this year,” stated Alleghany County Manager Michael James. “With the current emphasis on spending locally, we are always excited when an Alleghany County business wins a bid.”
“Home Town Oil has been serving us well the last several years and is a valuable partner. Jackie Billings and his team have always gone above and beyond to help my team,” stated Josh Greene, Alleghany County Public Works Director. His team works directly with the fuel oil vendor to supply the county buildings.
Jackie Billings, the Owner of Home Town Oil added, “I am excited to once again secure the County’s business. It has been a mutually beneficial relationship.”
