Sparta, NC — Napco USA today announced a planned expansion of its production line in Sparta. The manufacturer or rigid board packaging and marketing materials, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, will add up to 35 jobs over the next 2 years. To assist the company in its expansion, the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) approved a $225,000 Building Reuse Grant to be accompanied by an $11,250.00 local match from the Alleghany County Commission. The company will also receive training and onboarding funds of up to $1000.00 per job created from the North Carolina Community College System.

“We appreciate the Alleghany County Government and State of North Carolina for assisting with our pending expansion. We recently celebrated our 40th anniversary in Sparta and look forward to increasing our production very soon,” stated Napco USA President Paul Demmink.

“We are very pleased to assist Napco with their coming expansion,” added Mark Evans, Chairman of the Alleghany County Commission. “They are one of the bedrocks of our local economy. The County Commission stands ready to assist our local companies in any way we can.”

The North Carolina Building Reuse Grant Program supports the renovation or expansion of buildings occupied by a company operating in the state of North Carolina for at least 12 months. Companies must meet the weekly wage standard, provide at least 50% benefits to employees and be represented on the Priority Industry Table. The program requires a 50% match from the company and a 5% match from the local government.
